Schwinn Elliptical Trainers For Home Use
If you are in the process of comparing home cardio-vascular machines for use at home, don’t bypass the Schwinn elliptical trainers. With many years in the business, Schwinn produces sturdy machines with a good foot action and general movement quality.
Schwinn Ellipticals Are Sturdy, Strong and Great Value for Money
Their range of machines is wide but for home use the elliptical trainers give good value for money and offer a variety of workouts that will suit all the family. The basic ellipticals, such as the 420 and Sole E25 machines, will be sufficient for most users, and you can find great prices online. They are sturdy and strong, with a smooth elliptical motion, and a number of different optional workout programs.
The user feedback is more limited than more expensive versions but still fine for most people. It includes a powered incline adjustment, so that you can vary intensity as well as speed, and the handlebars are long, and made to allow a number of different hand positions. You can also adjust the intensity of the upper body workout to suit your needs.
Plenty of Features to Choose From
The higher grade machines come, of course, with added features including more programs, heart rate monitoring and larger visual displays. Some have a larger footprint, which may be an advantage or a disadvantage, depending on your preference for stability over space-saving, and the prices vary accordingly. But the most useful part of the Schwinn elliptical trainers family is common to all their machines, and this is the articulated pedal.
Schwinn’s foot pads and pedals move along with the user’s foot throughout the range of motion, so that the sole of the foot hardly leaves the pad. This gives a great feeling of stability and supports the foot and ankle (and hence the rest of the body) more than most other machines. This leads to a lower likelihood of injury or strain, and therefore more confident training, which means that you will likely train harder for longer.
The latest 460 machine plays on this advantage and includes step, walk, and run cycles, all of which are comfortable to use and mean that you can vary your workout from day to day, and reduce boredom levels (always a good thing!). It is also a more robust product, capable of accommodating a larger frame and heavier weight without strain. The downside, obviously, is that this machine is at the top end of the cost level. However, even the Schwinn online price is currently only $1,199 which, to my mind, is not a great deal of money for the product.
Consider the Warranty
Do be sure, as you would with any substantial investment, to consider the warranty on each Schwinn elliptical; the standard ones that come with the machine may differ, depending on who you buy the equipment from, but it’s often worth looking at options for extended warranty to add on. Shop around for the best deal on these, but if you’re buying direct from Schwinn you’ll be safest in terms of repair/replacement warranties.
So once you’ve decided on which machine is for you, go right ahead and get purchasing. The sooner you start using any of the Schwinn elliptical trainers, the sooner you’ll start to see the results!
