One area that rarely gets talked about when you try to lose stomach fat is body acidity. Being a source of ready energy, body or tummy fat is also used by the body to regulate pH, that is, the measure of how acidic or alkaline your system is. For optimum health, your body mush keep alkalinity in your blood, to approximate pH level of 7.35 – 7.45. In order to help keep pH levels at a normal level, the body continually tries to flush out toxins through your colon, kidneys, sweat glands and the lymph system. When your body is overloaded with too many toxins than the body can handle, it stores the excess in fat cells to protect your organs from toxicity.

With some simple lifestyle changes, you can bring your body’s pH level back to within a normal range. Drinking clean filtered water and switching to a healthier diet of organic foods where possible also help. Try to balance your diet so that it includes about 80% alkaline and 20% acid-forming foods – vegetables, for example, are all alkalizing especially anything green.

Remember, drinking lots of pure water can help flush toxins out of your system therefore preventing excess build-up. You may find that this can help you lose stomach fat; this being just one of the benefits you will see by lowering your body’s pH level down a couple of points.
